For the BFX competition, I decided to practice bike riding animations. I used the mannequin rig I had already downloaded from Troung’s website and Méabh’s bicycle model. It’s just a simple cycle on a bike (pun intended) with a small dust particle simulation thrown in.
It’s harder than I thought to find decent reference of cycling…
Basically the bulk of movement is in the legs and feet. I had four main poses based on the feet: Top of pedal cycle; forward (90 degrees); bottom and backward (270 degrees). The other foot will be in the opposite direction of each pose.
